Do I need to buy a new mattress before installing my anti-dust mite cover?
No, you don't need to buy a new mattress before installing your ProtecSom anti-dust mite cover. Our covers create an effective barrier against dust mite allergens, regardless of the condition of your mattress. However, before installation, we recommend thoroughly cleaning your mattress with a vacuum cleaner equipped with a HEPA filter.
Should I wash my cover before putting it on for the first time?
Noxaalon® covers Texaal® covers to begin shrinking slightly, a factor taken into account during their manufacture in our workshops.
How do I install my ProtecSom anti-dust mite cover?
For each bedding item (mattress, pillow and duvet), follow the steps below:
Installing the mattress cover
Step 1: If possible, install your anti-mites with the help of another person. Position yourself on either side of the mattress and evenly pull the cover up around your bedding. If you cannot get help, stand near the mattress and install the cover in an "accordion" style, gradually pulling it up along the mattress.
Step 2: Position the flap under the closure to prevent allergen leakage, then close the cover using the zipper.
Step 3: Install a mattress protector (if you use one) then your fitted sheet over the anti-mites .
Installing pillow and duvet covers
Step 1: Insert the pillow or duvet into its anti-mites .
Step 2: Spread the fabric flap inside the cover, under the zipper. This flap prevents allergens from escaping through the zipper.
Step 3: Close the cover using the zipper.
Step 4: Reinstall your traditional pillow and duvet covers over the anti-mites .
General installation advice
Ventilation: Ventilate the room before, during and after installation.
Protection: We recommend using an FFP2 mask during the installation of your covers to minimize the inhalation of dust mite particles.
